Conversation between a Pastor and an Imam
An engaging conversation between a Dallas-based Christian Pastor, Mike Backman, and a Muslim Imam, Omar Suleiman. "Out of Context" is a 14 part interview series which answers pressing questions about Islam and gives valuable insight into the spirit of the faith.

What is Islam?
The word Islam means voluntary “Submission” or “Surrender” to the Will of God. It derives from the root word “salam,” meaning peace.
Concept of God
“Say: He is Allah, the One; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten, and there is none like unto Him.” [Al-Qur’an 112:1-4]

WHO WAS JESUS (PEACE BE UPON HIM)?
Some people say he was a prophet, others call him a god, while others say he was a very wise man. But whatever your idea is, one thing remains certain: he was not your ordinary man.
WHAT DOES ISLAM SAY ABOUT TERRORISM?
“…if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people.” [Al-Qur’an 5:32]

WOMEN IN ISLAM
The rights and responsibilities of women are equal to those of men but they are not necessarily identical. This difference is understandable because men and women are different, in their physiological and psychological make-up.
UNDERSTANDING SHARIAH
Shariah is the practical guidance Muslims live by. It is rooted in the divine teachings of Islam and relates to all aspects of life. Its collective aim is to facilitate benefit for humanity in this life and the hereafter.
WORSHIP IN ISLAM
The concept of worship in Islam is comprehensive. It regulates the human life on all levels: the individual, the social, the economic, the political and the spiritual. All activities are considered by God as acts of worship, if done in conformance to His guidance.
